indiandoctor4u//New delhi Bureau// At present, the Government is not considering any proposal for mandatory internship for medical professionals in rural and remote areas. Health being a State subject, provision of healthcare facilities falls under the jurisdiction of respective State Governments. However, to encourage doctors working in remote and difficult areas, the MCI with the previous approval of Central Government, has amended the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000 to provide :- (i) 50% reservation in Post Graduate Diploma Courses for Medical Officers in the Government service, who have served for at least three years in remote and difficult areas; and (ii) Incentive at the rate of 10% the marks obtained for each year in service in remote or difficult areas as upto the maximum of 30% of the marks obtained in the entrance test for admissions in Post Graduate Medical Courses. Further, under, NHM, financial incentive is also provided to MBBS as well as PG doctors for serving in the rural areas. These incentives are over and above the salaries of the doctors concerned. The Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Sh Faggan Singh Kulaste stated this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Shri J P Nadda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development, Urban Poverty Alleviation, and Information & Broadcasting. AIIMS signed an MOU worth ₹ 4441 crores with NBCC (India) Limited, ₹ 2500 crores with HSCC (India) Limited and ₹ 729 crores with HITES HLL Life Care Ltd, a cumulative net worth of ₹ 7670. Speaking on the occasion, Shri J P Nadda said that this is one of the most historic days for AIIMS as this is the largest ever health sector investment commitments made by Government in a public health project at one event. “The past two years have witnessed a historic growth in the form of infrastructure & other facilities,” Shri Nadda said. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri G. Kishan Reddy was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naik lauded success of the CRIUM in the treatment of vitiligo and other chronic and stubborn diseases and said that it’s perhaps the only medical institution in the world which has treated more than 1.5 lakh patients of Vitiligo alone. Funds under NRCP are only provided for training, surveillance, laboratory strengthening and advocacy etc. However for rabies vaccination all the states/UTs have been communicated to include Anti- Rabies vaccine (ARV) and Anti Rabies serum ( ARS ) under essential drug list and to undertake the procurement of ARV and ARS under National Free Drug service initiative under National Health Mission. As there is rabies elimination drive by 2030 globally, there is significant demand of Anti Rabies Vaccine and Serum from the neighboring courtiers like Myanmar, Malaysia and Philippines and these countries are importing vaccine from India.Many states and stakeholders have pointed out that preferential export of ARV by Indian Manufactures at escalated prices to the neighboring countries has resulted in nonresponse and non-participation by the manufactures in domestic tenders. Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) was directed to monitor the pharmaceutical firms producing ARV for ensuring regular supply of ARV to the States. DCGI requested all the manufacturers to furnish monthly details of the quantities of ARV manufactured, exported, sold in the domestic market and supplied to the government institutions. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries. OPD Services that were operationalized for AIIMS Bathinda include General Medicine, Gynae & Obs; General Surgery including consultation in surgical oncology, urology & pediatric surgery, Orthopedic, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Dental, Basic Radiology (X-Ray, Ultrasound and colour Doppler), Basic Biochemistry & Hematological tests; and medicines at discounted rates through AMRIT pharmacy. Dr Harsh Vardhan also announced that the satellite centre for PGI Chandigarh will come up at Firozpur at a cost of Rs. 450 cr, and this shall be operational by 2022. While inaugurating the OPD services, Dr Harsh Vardhan stated that AIIMS Bhatinda will be fully functional by June, 2020 and PGI Chandigarh is the mentor institute supporting it. As per the Ayurverdic Practices the following Preventive Management Steps are suggested. • Maintain personal hygiene. • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available. • Drink Shadang Paniya (Musta, Parpat, Usheer, Chandan,Udeechya & Nagar) processed water (10 gm powder boiled in 1-liter water, until it reduces to half). The Group of Expertsinter-alia has recommended that homoeopathy medicine Arsenicum album30 could be taken as prophylactic medicine against Coronavirus infections, which has also been advised for prevention of ILI.It has recommended one doze of Arsenicum album 30, daily in empty stomach for threedays. The dose should be repeated after one month by following the same schedule incase Coronavirus infections prevail in the community. The Expert Group has further suggested that general hygienic measures for prevention of air-borne infections suggested by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, for prevention of the disease should also be followed by the public.

Answer –As per the latest information available by the government sources the most accepted and commonly used method of diagnostic for SARS-CoV2 Variant is RT-PCR method. With the help of this test currently several centres are detecting the virus. This method detects specific genes in the virus, such as Spike (S), Enveloped (E) and Nucleocapsid (N) etc to confirm the presence of virus. However, in case of Omicron, as the S gene is heavily mutated, some of the primers may lead to results indicating absence of the S gene (called as S gene drop out). UK now approved a variant-adapted coronavirus vaccine

The UK medicines regulator gave the conditional approval for its use as a booster for adults. This was decided after clinical trial data showed the booster triggered a strong immune response against both Omicron (BA.1) and the original 2020 virus. According to Company Moderna in June 2022, the sources said trial data showed that when given as a fourth dose, the variant-adapted shot raised virus-neutralising antibodies by eight-fold against Omicron. Moderna trial data showed its variant-adapted booster generated virus-neutralising antibody levels against the subvariants that were 1.69 times higher than those given the original booster.

indiandoctor4u// -Bhopal Bureau // Recently MoU was signed between All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board. The objective of this MoU was for joint study and research on ‘Impact of environmental pollution on human health’. This study done by the experts of both the institutes will set a new example for the health security of future generations. This important MoU was signed by Member Secretary of the Board, Chandra Mohan Thakur and Dr. Ajay Singh, Director and Executive Officer, AIIMS. On this occasion, Chandramohan Thakur said that a joint study by the experts of both the institutes would be done to find out what are the ill effects of various pollutants present in the environment on human health and what diseases are caused by them. Based on these data, it will help in determining the health policy. On this occasion, Dr. Ajay Singh said that this MoU will prove to be a milestone in the control of diseases caused by air pollution. Due to the availability of this authentic data, there will be more help in making effective health policy across the country.

This action is taken to To ensure food safety, and it is done regularly by FSSAI. This activity is From April 1, 2023, 1,411 cases have been initiated against FBOs violating the Act. The FSSAI. regulatory authority monitors such food safety standards throughout the year.The cases in which action was taken relate to operating food business without proper license and manufacturing or selling unsafe food items.Several complaints are received through different platform about food operators all around the country. The FSSAI body accordingly check the respective complaints with a proper standards and rules every time. The festival season is going on and adulteration of food items is major concern for health, as mentioned by senior official.
